Cervical screening · Central London EC1
Private HPV Test in London
High-risk HPV testing for 14 types, taken by a consultant gynaecologist — as a quick standalone test or with a full consultation. Results in days, explained properly.
HPV testing is now the core of cervical screening: the virus causes almost all cervical cancers, and testing for it finds risk earlier than cytology alone. You do not need symptoms, a referral or an NHS invitation to be tested privately.
HPV test £150 · Results in 2–5 working days

What to expect
A simple test, done properly
Your options
A standalone HPV test (15 minutes, £150), HPV and Pap smear reported together (£230), or the Complete Well Woman Check — consultation, pelvic ultrasound and cervical screening (£380).
The sample
Taken by a consultant gynaecologist, not a machine or a home kit — gently, with everything explained first.
The laboratory
Testing covers the 14 high-risk HPV types. If HPV is found, cervical cytology is added from the same sample at no extra charge.
Your results
A written report in 2–5 working days, with a clear explanation of what the result means for you — not just a number.
If HPV is found
Most HPV clears on its own. Where follow-up, colposcopy or repeat testing is needed, it is explained and arranged rather than left with you.
Urgent referral
If findings suggest anything requiring urgent specialist care, referral is arranged the same day.

Common questions
Questions about HPV testing
What is HPV and why test for it?
Human papillomavirus is a very common virus; most people have it at some point. A small group of high-risk types cause almost all cervical cancers, which is why modern screening tests for the virus first.
Do I need a smear as well?
The HPV test is taken the same way as a smear, from the same sample. If HPV is found, cytology is added at no extra charge — so one visit covers both.
Is a positive HPV test serious?
Usually not. Most infections clear within one to two years. A positive result means closer monitoring — cytology, sometimes colposcopy — not that anything is wrong today.
I have had the HPV vaccine. Should I still test?
Yes. The vaccine covers the most important types but not all 14 high-risk types, so screening is still recommended for vaccinated women.
How is this different from NHS screening?
The test is the same. The differences are timing and access: no invitation needed, same-day appointments, results in days, and a consultant explaining the result.
Can I test without a consultation?
Yes — the 15-minute screening visit (£150) is the test only, taken by a consultant who also explains the result. A full consultation can be added if anything needs discussing.

Same-day appointments at 1-5 Portpool Lane, four minutes from Chancery Lane. Consultations in English, Greek and Italian.
After your assessment, the doctor will explain the findings and guide you on the most appropriate next steps. Depending on what is found, this may include monitoring, further tests, a prescription, treatment we can offer at the clinic, or referral to another specialist or service. Not every condition can be treated at AristoGP, and an appointment does not guarantee a particular treatment or prescription.
