Private STI screening at AristoGP is a confidential, clinical appointment for women who want a comprehensive sexual health screen. It is performed by Dr Anastasia Mermigka or a clinical colleague at our Central London EC1 clinic and requires no referral. The full panel of seven tests is completed in a single 15-minute sample collection appointment, with results processed by TDL and reviewed by a clinician.
What the Full STI Panel Includes
- Chlamydia (Chlamydia trachomatis) — the most common bacterial STI in the UK, frequently asymptomatic
- Gonorrhoea (Neisseria gonorrhoeae) — tested alongside chlamydia from the same sample
- HIV (types 1 and 2) — 4th generation antigen/antibody test detecting both antigen and antibody
- Syphilis — blood test for Treponema pallidum antibodies
- Hepatitis B — surface antigen test identifying active infection
- Hepatitis C — antibody test identifying past or current infection
- Trichomonas vaginalis — a common but often overlooked parasitic infection causing vaginal discharge and irritation
Samples are processed by TDL (The Doctors Laboratory) and most results are available within 24 to 48 hours. Results are reviewed by a clinician and communicated to you directly. If any result requires treatment or further investigation, you will be contacted promptly with clear advice on next steps.
Can I Add Cervical Screening at the Same Visit?
Yes. If your HPV cervical screening is due, it can be performed at the same appointment. Cervical screening (B1) costs £150 and is added to the STI panel appointment without the need for a separate visit. If you have symptoms such as unusual discharge, pelvic pain, or irregular bleeding, Dr Mermigka may recommend adding a full vaginal health consultation (A1, £200) to ensure all symptoms are assessed properly.

Is the screening completely confidential?
Yes. Your STI results are confidential. They will not be shared with your NHS GP without your consent. If you have a positive result, a clinician will contact you to discuss treatment and, where appropriate, partner notification. You decide how and whether your GP is informed.
How long does the appointment take?
The sample collection appointment is 15 minutes. Samples include a self-taken or clinician-taken vaginal swab and a blood draw. You do not need to attend for a follow-up unless your results require it.
Do I need a consultation as well as the STI test?
Not necessarily. If you have no symptoms and simply want a routine screen, the sample collection appointment (B2) is sufficient. If you have symptoms such as unusual discharge, pain, or bleeding, we recommend booking a vaginal health consultation (A1, £200) so that Dr Mermigka can assess you properly alongside arranging the tests.
How much does STI testing cost in London?
The AristoGP full STI panel of seven tests costs £290. Cervical screening can be added for £150. Results are reviewed by a clinician and communicated to you, with clear advice on next steps if any result is positive.
