Men’s and women’s health
Dr Schoinas sees men and women of all adult ages. A 30-minute appointment leaves time to deal with more than one concern and to plan any tests properly.
Women’s health. Periods that have become heavier, irregular or more painful; tiredness and low iron; thyroid symptoms; recurrent urine infections; menopause symptoms; and breast changes, which are assessed and referred urgently when needed. When a specialist opinion or a pelvic scan is needed, Dr Schoinas works alongside consultant gynaecologist Dr Anastasia Mermigka at the same clinic, including our menopause consultation.
Men’s health. Prostate symptoms and whether a PSA test is right for you; energy, libido and testosterone; erectile dysfunction; blood pressure and cardiovascular risk; weight and metabolic health. See our men’s health page for more.
For everyone. Tiredness and fatigue, skin problems and medication reviews. Blood tests are requested through our laboratory, TDL, with a follow-up appointment (£120, within 6 weeks) to go through the results. Blood tests, if needed, are charged separately.
When a private GP appointment in London makes sense
Most patients contact us for one of four reasons: they cannot get an NHS appointment quickly enough; they need a longer, unrushed consultation; they want a second opinion; or they are in London without a registered NHS GP and need to be seen promptly.
Private GP care is not a replacement for NHS care — it is an addition when timing or access makes the NHS route impractical. Where specialist care is needed, Dr Schoinas provides a written referral letter and can direct patients into private specialist care or back into the NHS pathway, whichever is the more appropriate route.

Common questions
Questions about seeing a private GP
How long is the appointment?
Thirty minutes, which is roughly three times a standard NHS slot. It means more than one problem can be dealt with properly in a single visit rather than being asked to rebook.
Can you prescribe?
Yes, where clinically appropriate, following assessment at the appointment. Private prescriptions can be taken to any pharmacy. The cost of the medication itself is set by the pharmacy and is separate from the consultation fee. We do not prescribe controlled drugs.
Can you refer me to a specialist?
Yes, privately or back into the NHS where that is the better route. A referral letter with the relevant history and any test results is provided, which is what makes a referral useful.
Can you arrange blood tests?
Yes. Blood is not taken at the clinic itself, but Dr Schoinas can request the tests you need from our laboratory, The Doctors Laboratory (TDL). You have your blood taken at TDL Patient Reception, 76 Wimpole Street, W1 (walk-in, Monday to Saturday), and the results come back to Dr Schoinas. A follow-up GP appointment (£120, within 6 weeks) is recommended to go through the results together, and if anything needs prompt attention he will contact you directly.
Do you do sick notes?
Yes, where clinically appropriate, as a private fit note. We cannot issue the NHS Med3 form. Most employers accept a private certificate, but check with yours first, and it cannot be used for DWP benefit claims.
Are consultations available in other languages?
Yes. Dr Georgios Schoinas consults in English, Greek and Bulgarian, face to face at the clinic.
Do I need to register as a patient?
No. There is no registration fee and no membership. You book the appointment you need, and you remain registered with your NHS GP for ongoing and emergency care.
Is private GP care regulated?
Yes. Dr Georgios Schoinas is registered with the General Medical Council (GMC 7632510) and holds the MRCGP qualification. The clinic operates under the governance of Med Logistics Properties Limited, a provider registered with the Care Quality Commission.
Can I see a private GP without an NHS GP?
Yes. There is no requirement to have a registered NHS GP to book a private GP appointment. You do not need a referral, a registration fee, or any prior relationship with the clinic. Most patients book online and are seen the same day or the next.
