Gynaecology Second Opinion in London
An independent review of a gynaecology diagnosis, scan or treatment plan. If you have been given a diagnosis or offered treatment and would like it looked at again by a doctor who was not involved in the original assessment, Dr Anastasia Mermigka offers a dedicated second opinion appointment in Central London.
This is a longer appointment than a standard consultation. Your existing reports, imaging and blood results are read before you arrive, so the time is spent discussing what they show and what your options are, rather than gathering the history from scratch.
Second Opinion & Review £320 · 45 minutes
When booking, choose “G1 Second Opinion & Review of Previous Investigations” from the appointment list.
Please send your reports, scans and blood results at least three working days before the appointment, so they can be read in full beforehand.
What a second opinion is
And when it helps
A second opinion is an independent review of a diagnosis or a proposed treatment by a doctor who was not involved in the original assessment. It is common in gynaecology, where the same findings can reasonably support more than one approach, and where the right decision often depends on what matters to you.
It does not replace the care you are already receiving, and it is not a route to a particular answer. Dr Mermigka will tell you where she agrees with the original assessment as readily as where she would suggest something different.

Your records read in advance
Reports, scans and blood results are reviewed before you arrive. Please send them at least three working days ahead so the full appointment can be spent with you.
A full 45-minute consultation
Time to go through the findings, the reasoning behind the original plan and the alternatives, with a consultant gynaecologist of 25 years’ experience.
Imaging and next steps
Where a scan would add something, a pelvic ultrasound can be carried out during the same visit and is charged separately. Onward referral is arranged where it is appropriate.
A second opinion appointment is not for urgent problems. If you have severe pain, heavy bleeding or feel acutely unwell, contact your NHS GP, call 111, or attend your nearest emergency department.
