Simple things too

What people come in for

Not every appointment is a complicated case. Most are one symptom, one question, or a routine check — and those are seen the same day, by the same consultant, at the standard £200 consultation fee.

Discomfort and irritation

Vaginal dryness
Common after the menopause, on some contraception, and while breastfeeding. Treatable, and rarely something to live with.

Itching or burning
Often treated as thrush for months without the diagnosis being confirmed. A swab settles it.

Soreness during sex
Dryness, a skin condition, or muscle tension — each needs a different answer.

Unusual discharge · recurrent thrush · bacterial vaginosis · vulval skin changes

Routine and preventive

Cervical screening
The HPV test on its own, or with a consultation if you would rather discuss it.

Contraception advice
Which method suits you, and switching if the current one does not.

A check with no symptoms
Reassurance is a legitimate reason to book. Many appointments end with nothing needing treatment.

Sexual health screening · period problems · menopause and HRT · pre-pregnancy advice

Sex, libido and wellbeing

Low libido
A change in desire has causes worth looking for — hormonal, contraceptive, or simply exhaustion. It is a medical conversation, not an awkward one.

Pain that puts you off sex
Dryness, a skin condition or pelvic muscle tension. Each has a different answer, and none of them is to persevere.

Anything about sex you want to discuss
There is no question here that has not been asked before, and nothing that will be rushed. Bring it.

A result you do not understand · a symptom you are unsure about · a second view before an operation

Second opinion

Bringing results from somewhere else

Review of previous investigations

If you have already been investigated elsewhere and want a considered second view, that is a separate appointment rather than something squeezed into a standard consultation. Reading a set of previous results properly takes time, and it carries real clinical responsibility.

Send your records at least three working days beforehand. They are read before you arrive, so the appointment is spent discussing what they mean rather than opening envelopes. You leave with an opinion, not a promise to write later.

Typical reasons patients book this: fertility investigations done abroad or at another clinic, a scan report they do not understand, a recommended operation they want a second view on, or years of results from different places that nobody has ever looked at together.

Can I just message you?

Yes — you can message us. WhatsApp is the quickest way to reach the clinic for appointments, directions, what to bring, whether to keep an appointment if your period arrives, and which appointment type you need. We would rather you asked than guessed.

What messaging cannot do is replace an appointment. We will not diagnose, interpret results or change treatment over WhatsApp, because doing that safely needs your history and often an examination. If a question needs a clinical answer, we will say so and offer you a follow-up.

Results from tests arranged here are explained as part of what you have already paid for. Results from elsewhere, or a new problem, need an appointment.

Frequently asked questions

Can I bring test results from another clinic or another country?

Yes, and it is worth doing. Book the Second Opinion appointment and send the records at least three working days before, so they are read in advance. Reviewing a set of previous investigations properly is separate work from a standard consultation, which is why it is a separate appointment at £320.

Can I message the clinic instead of booking?

For anything practical, yes. WhatsApp is the fastest way to ask about appointments, what to bring, or which appointment type fits your problem. We will not interpret results or change treatment by message, because that needs your history and often an examination.

Is a pelvic examination included in the consultation fee?

Yes. The £200 consultation covers the discussion, the examination where it is needed, and a management plan. Nothing about the examination is charged separately. If a pelvic ultrasound is also needed, that is £300 for the two together in the same visit.

What if I need to come back?

A follow-up for patients already seen here is £120, or £200 for a follow-up pelvic ultrasound. If we ask you to come back, we will tell you why and roughly when. Many patients need no follow-up at all, and we will say that too.

Do I need a different appointment for menopause or fertility?

No. One gynaecology consultation covers all of it — periods, pain, fibroids, cysts, menopause, perimenopause and fertility — at the same £200 and the same 45 minutes. Tell us the reason when you book so the right time and questionnaire are set aside, but you are not charged more for one problem than another.

Is the full STI panel a blood test?

No. It is a swab, taken in the same way as a cervical screening sample. The panel covers seven infections: chlamydia, gonorrhoea, mycoplasma genitalium, ureaplasma, trichomonas, gardnerella and herpes simplex I and II. Blood tests are separate and are arranged only when they are clinically needed.
